Who can join the Housing Register?

To join the Housing Register, applicants must be a ‘qualifying person’.  In order to be a qualifying person, an applicant must:

• Be over the age of 18 years.  Those aged 16 or 17 will be assisted in partnership with Children Schools and Families.
• Not be subject to immigration control.
• Be habitually resident in the United Kingdom.
• Have a local connection to Hertsmere.
• Have an identified housing need as set out in the Council’s allocation policy.
